Key West is a US island within the Florida Keys. Its also known as Florida’s southernmost point only 90 miles or so from Cuba. It is a great diving and snorkeling location and many cruise ships make stops during their routes to take in the local offerings. Key West, Florida is a great vacation for 3 days or 3 weeks.
Key West has 2 different vibes. There is the Key West that is visited by thousands of visitors each week from incoming cruise ships and travelers who arrived via plane, car or auto with their friends or family or those that come single and are ready to mingle. These travelers are itching to visit the famed Duval Street to see all that this street has to offer. From bars to restaurants to t-shirt shops and cabaret shows, it truly is a melting pot.
There is another side to Key West that is almost the complete opposite of the aforementioned. The quaint, tropical island is full of hidden places, rich in culture, and often not visited by the masses.
Cuban influence remains strong in Key West and can be seen in Cuban owned restaurants and cigar shops. There are even several cigar shops that you can visit that still have people hand rolling cigars and serving Cuban coffee.
