Madrid, Spain is the beloved capital that has rich traditions, huge beautiful parks, and is known for its art. Food, fun, and festivities await in this vibrant center of Spain. We love Madrid and plan on going back very soon.
“The City that Never Sleeps TOO”
I am from the United States and I am fully aware that New York City has rightfully earned this nickname, however, after having visited Madrid now for the second time, I think it too should be given this handle. After sailing the Adriatic Sea for 7 days, we headed to Madrid to catch Rock in Rio to see Red Hot Chili Peppers, DeadMau5, & Incubus along with 60,000 rocking fans.
After the concert, we arrived back at our hotel via taxi around 2 am to find the streets buzzing with life. Hundreds of people lined the streets, some having conversations as they walked to their next destination, others with a glass of wine in hand on their balcony as they spoke with friends. There were bars and restaurants still open and serving customers. Laughter filled the air. We asked a local person what time the bars closed and he told us that most bars closed at 3 am but the nightclubs stayed open until 6 am.
